What Happens After the Workshop?

At the end of your workshop, your finished wax model is sent to a professional casting company, where it is transformed into solid sterling silver using the lost wax casting process. Once returned to the studio, your piece is cleaned, polished and carefully inspected before it is ready for collection or delivery.

  • Crafting your own masterpiece, you can choose one from the following options:

    • Ring (up to 8mm wide)

    • Pendant (30mm by 15mm)

    • 2 Charms or 2 Small Pendants (15mm by 15mm each)

    Additional services such as gold plating and engraving are available at an extra cost. Gold plating starts from £40, while engraving services begin at £30. Please note that extra materials like 9kt and 18kt gold will incur additional charges.

  • Do I need any jewellery-making experience?

    No. This workshop is designed for complete beginners as well as those with some creative experience. You'll be guided through every stage of the process, from developing your idea to carving and refining your wax jewellery design.

    What will I make during the workshop?

    You can choose to create a ring, pendant, or two small charms or pendants in wax. Your finished wax model will then be professionally cast in sterling silver.

    How long is the workshop?

    The workshop lasts approximately 2.5 hours, giving you plenty of time to learn the techniques and complete your wax jewellery design.

    Is the sterling silver casting included?
    Yes. Professional casting into sterling silver is included in the workshop price.

    When will I receive my finished jewellery piece?

    Once your wax model has been professionally cast, cleaned and polished, your finished jewellery will usually be ready within 2–3 weeks. We'll contact you as soon as it's ready for collection or delivery.

    Can I create my own design?

    Absolutely. You're encouraged to bring your own ideas, sketches or inspiration images. If you're unsure where to start, I'll help you develop a design that's suitable for carving and casting.

    What if I make a mistake?

    Don't worry. Wax is a very forgiving material, and I'll guide you throughout the workshop to help you overcome any challenges. Mistakes are often part of the creative process.

    What should I wear?

    Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. Jewellery making can be a little dusty, so it's best not to wear your favourite outfit.

    Can I book a private workshop?

    Yes. Private one-to-one sessions and private workshops for two are available. These are perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, couples or anyone looking for a more personalised experience.

    Can I buy this workshop as a gift?

    Yes. Gift vouchers are available, making this workshop a thoughtful gift for birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas or anyone who enjoys creative experiences.

Design Your Own Jewellery with Wax Carving

Turn an idea into a piece of jewellery in this creative wax carving workshop with designer-maker Tayo Bello.

You will sketch your design, then shape and refine it in specialist jeweller’s wax using a range of hand-carving tools. Your finished wax model will be professionally cast in sterling silver, ready for collection or posting around two weeks later.

Choose a design that feels like you: geometric, sculptural, organic or beautifully personal.

During the workshop, you will learn how to:

  • develop an idea suitable for wax carving

  • sketch and plan your jewellery design

  • use specialist wax-carving tools

  • shape and refine jeweller’s wax

  • prepare the finished design for casting

Choose one piece to create:

  • one ring, up to 8mm wide

  • one pendant, up to 30mm by 15mm

  • two charms or two small pendants, up to 15mm by 15mm each
